Arriving in Nanchang, we take a bus through the countryside to the city ... Maeve still awake and excited on the bus ... Not long now until we're a family of four.
The Gloria Grand hotel, adjacent to the fabulous Tengwang pavilion, right on the river. Nowhere near as nice inside as the much newer Galactic Peace, but still a nice hotel, and 'happily situated' as Austen would say. Great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. But that's not what we've come for, is it?
Drum roll ... Meet Elspeth Forde!
Unfortunately, things happened so quickly that Gungun missed taking the Gotcha moment of handover, so this will have to do as the earliest pic of Mama and El! Here she's pointing out her Gungun to El.
First family pic ... Maeve is wondering, can this really be my mei mei? She's so small, and isn't saying much!
Can I touch her, Mom? Mei mei's not too sure of Jie Jie yet.

Turns out Elspeth likes a good cuppa green tea. Who'd have thought?
She also likes a little feeding from her big sister.

Dad gets El to sleep ... She conks out easily, exhausted by her first day as a member of the Forde family.
Elspeth sleeping, sprawled and serene. She's waay too delicate to sleep with Maeve in the big bed ... It's going to be cribs for El for a while yet.
Maeve, promised a mei mei to sleep with, has to make do with her doll, who she cuddles to sleep after the most exciting day of her life. Mom and Dad need to pass out too ... Whew, what a day!

Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing your first moments with us - El looks beautiful beside her mama and jie jie. And Pat,it is wonderful to see you with your two daughters - that one brought tears to my eyes. Can't wait to see all of you when you get back!

I am crying crying crying here - SOOOO BEAUTIFUL to see the two sisters together at long last and to see Baba and Mama with two stunning daughters! Lochie turns 6 months old today and what a wonderful half-birthday gift to see his lovely new cousin with his other lovely cousin - the closest to him in age. He is so excited to meet Elspeth (as I am)! Such an emotional day for all of you - thanks so much for getting the photos up! Beautiful pictures! Mom and dad look so proud, and Maeve is captivated by her sister. That joy is easy to see. El looks quite taken with her new family. She is a little peanut! I'm so happy for all of you!!!

She's absolutely beautiful. And Maeve looks sooo happy to finally be a mei mei after her long wait. Elspeth is so pretty and looks so tiny. What a wonderful early Christmas gift for all of you!
